Aconcagua, located in the heart of the Argentine-Chilean Central Andes, at 22,834 feet, is the highest mountain in the world outside Asia and the highest point in the Western Hemisphere. Its native Inca name, “Stone Sentinel,” is appropriate given its monstrous rocks and ice. Heidi intends to climb Aconcagua in early 2009.
